METAMORPHOSIS MAPbutterfly to my doctoral journey        TOUR

This word, "metamorphosis" means "after sleep". When I think of the journey I have begun, my doctoral research, I am reminded of Frost's lines:
            "The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
            But I have promises to keep,
            And miles to go before I sleep,
            And miles to go before I sleep."

And what will I be doing - again, I borrow from the poet Robert Frost as I consider  the adventure I've begun:
            "I'm going out to clean the pasture spring;
            I'll only stop to take the leaves away
            (And wait to watch the water clear, I may):
            I shan't be gone long - You come too."

I want to invite you along. It is a magical story for me, I'm not sure just where the tornado has brought me down, though this much is clear, I see the Emerald City in the distance, and like Dorothy, I have the kiss of good luck from my friends and family as I set out on this final stretch of the road: the research proposal, the dissertation.

This web resource then, is to be the cocoon. Inside this cyberspace, I will construct my "Metamorphosis Map".  When I emerge - sometime in the spring of 1999, I hope to be Dr. Butterfly.
