PART 2: Using Search Engines

There are quite a few search engines to help you with your research. One easy way to see a list of them is to go to the Search button on your web browser.

HINT: If you have more than one word in your search, use quotation marks around the words, for example: "Toronto Nightlife". You could also use plus signs between the words, for example: Toronto + history. Try one of the search engines listed below. You can click on any one of them and use it to search for web sites on any topic.

There are also what are called Meta-Search Engines. These will go out and search a number of search engines at the same time for you. Here are a few for you to try: And have a look at Search Engine Collossus!
