I am a writer/poet/editor, holistic educator/researcher. My doctoral work explores the creative work of holistic educators working through their spiritual intelligence who use personal creativity as an inherent aspect of their soul work. My work is rooted in humanistic and transpersonal psychology.

I lead seminars, workshops, classes in Creative Writing, Creativity, Superlearning, Transformational Fantasy and Psychosynthesis, Mental Imagery and Visualization, Feminist Spirituality, Oracles, Storytelling and Dreams. I work as a psychotherapist and creativity consultant with the Rainbow Light & Co.

I co-created (with Linda Goldman) the award winning children’s audiotape, Crocket, Carob and Crystals: The C3 Trilogy on the Rainbow Light Label.

I have taught creativity and writing courses (at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies), namely, Personal Creativity and Writing, Imagination and Writing: The Writer Inside You (Part I & II). I teach Creative Writing and Exploring Creativity at Centennial College (Toronto) and present workshops on these topics.

In my private psychotherapy practice, I use technologies from Transformational Fantasy (developed by J. T. A. Shaffer) and Psychosynthesis (developed by Roberto Assagioli), as well as NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and DMA (a cybernetic tool-kit of techniques). I am currently working on a book on the theory and practice of Transformational Fantasy.

I am involved in the Holistic Education movement as a co-planner and presenter to the Holistic Learning Breaking New Ground Conferences (sponsored by OISE/UT), the Toronto Saturday Holistic Education Network and the international Soul Education Conferences.

I am a contributor and co-editor for Holistic learning and spirituality in education (SUNY, 2005) and currently editing a new book, The wheels of soul in education (to be published by SUNY Press.) I have contributed essays on humanistic psychology, spiritual psychology, creativity and holistic learning to journals and anthologies.

I write and publish poetry, science fiction and short stories. As a storyteller and translator, I have worked on Indigenous creation stories, world myths, and folk tales. I have given storytelling performances on CBC internationally. I work with documentary video and photography. My current project A Tree in the City is a documentary about attitudes to trees in the urban forest.

Under the pen name Isabella Colalillo Katz, I have published two volumes of poetry, Tasting fire (1999), And light remains (2006) Guernica Editions. My poems also appear in, Pillars of lace (Guernica, l998) and Italian Canadian voices (Mosaic 2006).
